Synopsis: A seemingly sleepy village in Sicily is the setting for a story of corruption, cynicism, and the ever-present threat of mafia violence. After a judge is ruthlessly gunned down in a drive-by shooting, his replacement, Michele De Francesco (Carlo Cecchi), is called upon to take his place.

Hot-headed cop Angelo Mandolesi (Claudio Amendola) volunteers to be a part of De Francesco's protective escort. Three other cops are assigned, led by Andrea Corsale (Enrico Lo Verso). The job isn't made any easier with the lack of police funding and in-fighting amongst the cops.

Judge De Francesco is determined to uncover a political conspiracy that implicates high members of the local government, and with the constant threat of violence from the local mafia, the outgunned escort must find a way to pull together and carry on against incredible odds.
